Also: Page 538 #7-25 odds. Show all the work and check your answers at the back of the book.

Today we cover the area formulas for triangles, rhombi, and trapezoids.
You must memorize the area formula for all 2-dimensional figures covered in class.
Formulas:
A(square) = side x side
A(rectangle) = length x width OR base x height
A(parallelogram) = base x height
A(triangle) = 1/2 x base x height
A(rhombus) = 1/2 x diameter1 x diameter2
A(trapezoid) = 1/2 x height x (base1 + base2) OR A = median x height
(Recall the median of a trapezoid is the segment between the bases that bisects the nonparallel legs. Its length is the average length of the bases: (b1 + b2)/2 ).
