You can finish in class tomorrow.
Today we continued lesson 1-4 on measuring segments. It is important that you know the difference between the notations of the figure "segment AB" and its length (measurement) AB.
We covered congruent segments, the ruler postulate, the segment addition postulate, the Pythagorean theorem, and the distance formula.
On a side note...
In one class we got into an interesting discussion that started with the existence of a line and led us to the shape of space (hyperbolic or flat or... ?) ... In another class we talked about sets of numbers (because we needed to identify the real numbers) and it led us to the abstractness of numbers and the existence of an object that represents -1... or any negative number!!! wow... thanks for the interesting questions and comments. Although these topics will not be tested, they are worth the discussion since they are math- and geometry-related and not to mention FUN!
