HW: all problems on BOTH handouts, except word problem #32, and know that for word problem #29, the sum of the measures of a pentagon is 720. Show the work as much as possible.

Today: Section 7-1 on ratio and proportion. There were lots of notes taken in class.
A ratio is a comparison between 2 or more numbers. It is a quotient where the first number is divided by the second number. It is usually expressed in simplest form. Equal ratios are like equivalent fractions. When you equate 2 equal ratios you form a proportion. A proportion is an equation where one side has a ratio equal to the other side.
Ratios are expressed in 3 ways:
a/b or a to b or a : b

Why are we reviewing ratios and proportions????? BECAUSE you need to know how to express and use them when we apply them in similar polygons.
Tomorrow: similar polygons
