HW: handout-side titled "algebra review" do #1-5, 16-26. Simplify all radicals. No decimals. No calculator. Show all your work on a separate paper.

HW: period 5 only- your assignment is different since we didn't finish the lesson because I was not in class yesterday. Handout pg280 #6-15, 27-29 on a different sheet.

GET A CALCULATOR SOON! BRING IT TO CLASS EVERYDAY AFTER SPRING BREAK.

Today: The geometric mean. Reviewing radicals again as well.
We will be on section 8-1 until at least Wednesday. We will cover chapter 8 most of the month!
Get caught up on your algebra skills!
New handout with practice given today.

I was not in period 5 due to appointments with baby in the early afternoon... we will go over all your questions Tuesday.

I will not be able to be at school by 7:30am Tuesday, but after-school tutoring is still on!

I love math!!! By the way, I had a baby May 26, 2010 (William, little Will) and he is doing great! This is my 9th year teaching math and my 2nd year at TPA. I have been teaching geometry at least twice a day since 2004 so it is a math subject I know inside and out!

In 2000, I received my B.S. from UCLA for Applied Math and a minor in French. I love languages. I'm fluent in Spanish too. I was born in El Salvador and have lived in Los Angeles since 1981, when I was 5...are you doing some math yet? I was always good at math, so this definitely helped my interest in the subject. I actually applied to colleges as a math major because I couldn't think of another subject I could dedicate a few years to and not be bored! I had no idea I was going to be a teacher until 2001. I got a job teaching 8th grade algebra and was suddenly thrown into the world of the Los Angeles Unified School District. After 2 years, it hit me like a ton of bricks! I love teaching. I want to teach math forever! So the following year I earned my teaching credential and a masters in Multicultural Education from National University. It's now 2004 and I finally got to teach at the high school level. I worked at Birmingham High school until the day I literally got into my car and drove to Tempe- the Friday of the last day of the Fall semester this year, February 6, 2009.
