Monday! 9/14/09 (Extra credit here...)

HW: Pg103-105 #12, 13, 31 (Write proofs with all necessary information!)

Hi!
Today I handed out a schedule of lessons for the week. We have a Proof Quiz this Friday.

Today's lesson was on section 2-5: Verifying Segment Relationships. We studied Theorem 2-1 which says: Congruence of segments is reflexive, symmetric, and transitive. I wrote their meaning symbolically and proved the reflexive and symmetric versions. Some classes had time to take a Pop quiz on proving the transitive version of the theorem.

I am starting a series of CHALLENGING PROBLEMS IN GEOMETRY accessible only on this blog! You will have a few days to solve this problem for 5 extra credit points. I will not reveal the answer until the problem's expiration date. You may NOT work or talk with anyone else NOR consult the internet for the solution of this problem. You may use the textbook and your brain. I will not give you a problem that you cannot solve without material we have not covered. It will take a bit of logical creativity and ingenuity...

Challenge PIG #1: Write and answer problem #40 on page 113.
