HW: pg317 #317 #21-30 and 38-47, and finish proofs #49-50 if you didn't in class.

Today: After going over the homework, we worked on 2 proofs on PAGE 318 #49 and 50.

TEST on FRIDAY! 2/11/11

STUDY:

1) the proofs of the parallelogram theorems

2) the 5 theorems and their proofs from the GROUP work last week

3) all classwork and homework problems from the book

4) all properties- know which ones are theorems and which one is the definition of the parallelogram, rectangle, rhombus, and square.

5) all definitions

6) how the find the possible measures of the 3rd side of a triangle when 2 are given AND determining whether a triangle possible with 3 given side lengths

I love math!!! By the way, I had a baby May 26, 2010 (William, little Will) and he is doing great! This is my 9th year teaching math and my 2nd year at TPA. I have been teaching geometry at least twice a day since 2004 so it is a math subject I know inside and out!

In 2000, I received my B.S. from UCLA for Applied Math and a minor in French. I love languages. I'm fluent in Spanish too. I was born in El Salvador and have lived in Los Angeles since 1981, when I was 5...are you doing some math yet? I was always good at math, so this definitely helped my interest in the subject. I actually applied to colleges as a math major because I couldn't think of another subject I could dedicate a few years to and not be bored! I had no idea I was going to be a teacher until 2001. I got a job teaching 8th grade algebra and was suddenly thrown into the world of the Los Angeles Unified School District. After 2 years, it hit me like a ton of bricks! I love teaching. I want to teach math forever! So the following year I earned my teaching credential and a masters in Multicultural Education from National University. It's now 2004 and I finally got to teach at the high school level. I worked at Birmingham High school until the day I literally got into my car and drove to Tempe- the Friday of the last day of the Fall semester this year, February 6, 2009.
