Be careful where you look up mathematical definitions. Some general dictionary websites are just not correct in their definitions of some math terms. Math sites are more trustworthy.
There is also you textbook...some definitions could be written better.
Anyways...beware...
Math terms must be well-defined!
Strive to be mathematically correct!
